Steps, discussions, thought of the day, and more!

AA Triangle and Circle

"We needed to concede to our innermost selves that we were alcoholic. This is the first step in recovery…"

But what does it mean to be alcoholic? The book "Alcoholics Anonymous" explains it simply.
It asks us two questions:

"If, when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit entirely, or if when drinking, you have little control over the amount you take, you are probably alcoholic."

The main purpose of A. A. is to recover from a state of mind and body that destroys and kills both. A.A., whether it is the steps, the individual, the group, or the basic text is dedicated to this single purpose.

If you or someone you care about has a problem with alcohol, please contact your nearest AA Intergroup or go to the Alcoholics Anonymous website.
We are willing to help.

Recovery Message Of The Day
Words of Wisdom from those in Recovery
Refreshed 6:00am CST every day

Today, I have serenity; the serenity to deal with the things that I couldn't before.
                "Only today?" you ask.
"Yes" I reply. "Today is all I have to think about. That's the beauty of it."

Big Book Step Map

If you are working a particular step, it pays to know where to find it in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.  The Big Book Step Map is just the right size to double as a book mark, while providing a layout of where to read about the steps in the Big Book.  Click here to download the Rich Text version of the Big Book Step Map bookmarks.  This file contains both a full size, and a miniature for "pocket sized" books.

Working step four?

Step Four Graphic

Looking for ideas about how you carry this out with that "searching and fearless" vigor?
The Worksheets listed below not A.A. approved material, but has been found to be very helpful as an aid to working a complete inventory. Be painstakingly honest, and remember to work each column top to bottom as noted on pages 64 through 70 in the Big Book.
